Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 177,264 tonnes of cargo comprising 130,076 Tones of import cargo and 47,188 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 Hours.

The total import cargo of 130,076 comprised of 34,600 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 6,212 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 8,758 tonnes of DAP and 80,506 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 47,188 tonnes comprised of 38,251 tonnes of containerized cargo, 372 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 1,350 tonnes of Clinkers, 2,063 tonnes of Corn, 552 tonnes of Rice and 4,600 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 6465 containers comprising of 2153 containers import and 4312 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 763 of 20’s and 695 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 855 of 20’s and 462 of 40’s loaded containers while 125 of 20’s and 1204 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Nearly 04 ships namely, TS Kelang, Pioneer Harmony, Livarden, Chipolbrok Galaxy and Silver Joan have berthed at Karachi Port.

Around 07 ships namely, Star Columba, Mild Bloom, X-Press Anglesey, Iwami, MT Lahore, KMTC Colombo and KSL Qingqang sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 12 cargoes namely KMTC Delhi, Hyundai Busan Chemtrans Arctic, Jolly Titand, Cosco Thailand, RDO Endeavour, MSC Malin, T Sympony, Pufffin Bulker and Bao Quan were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

PQA berths were engaged by eight ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, three ships, MSC Mumbai, Silver Eburna and PS Venezia left the port on Thursday morning, while four more ships, EM Astoria, Southern Wolf, Star Pisces and Happy Osprey are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 197,960 tonnes, comprising 154,185 tonnes imports cargo and 43,775 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,652 Containers (1,077 TEUs Imports and 2,575 TEUs export) was handled at the port.

There are 09 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, three ships, Express Athens, Tiger Glory and BBG Ocean & another ship Golden Violet carrying Containers, Palm and Coal are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, MW-1 and PIBT respectively on Monday, 30th June-2022.
