KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 88,258 tonnes of cargo comprising 47,859 tonnes of import cargo and 40,399 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 47,859 comprised of 30,703 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,531 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 125 tonnes of DAP and 14,500 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 40,399 tonnes comprised of 32,332 tonnes of containerized cargo, 192 tonnes of Rice and 7,875 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

Some, 7678 containers comprising of 3495 containers import and 4183 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1107 of 20’s and 1194 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 803 of 20’s and 1165 of 40’s loaded containers while 128 of 20’s and 461 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Thursday.

Some 03 ships namely, Rudolf Schulte, Yi Long Shan and Singapore Bridge have berth at Karachi Port.

Nearly 07 ships namely, MT Karachi, Szczecin Trader, Evanthia, Xin Yan Tian, Lu Yang Shun, Yantian Express and Independent Spirit have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 09 ships namely Southern Robin, Diyala, Global Dominance, MT Lahore, PVE Vinus, Chemrout Sky, Guenher Scheultte, GSL Valerie and Sheng Xing Hai were expected to arrive at the port on the same day.

PORT QASIM

A total of 08 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, two ships, MSC Shaula and Diyala left the Port on Thursday morning, while two more ships, Maersk Detroit and Hai Yang Zhi Hua are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 127,457tonnes, comprising 91,587 tonnes imports cargo and 35,870 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,391` Containers (1,281 TEUs Imports and 2,110 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 10 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 02 ships, Pacific Debbie and Em Astoria & another ship, ‘OOCL Washington’ Carrying Furnace oil and Containers are expected to take berths at FOTCO and QICT Thursday, 21th April-2022.
