ISLAMABAD: The government has announced four public holidays in the federal capital on account of the OIC foreign ministers conference and Pakistan Day; however, offices of extreme importance remained open.

The Cabinet Division has notified four public holidays in Islamabad from March 21 to March 24 (Monday to Thursday), while there will be three-day public holidays in Rawalpindi from March 21 to March 23. All federal ministries/divisions, along with their attached departments, and other organizations/offices of the federal government located in Rawalpindi and Islamabad shall also remain closed on Monday to Thursday, the notification added.

Three holidays in Islamabad

However, the Ministry of Economic Affairs remained open on Monday.

The government of Pakistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on Monday signed framework agreements for Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project (MDHP). The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) remained closed on Monday with zero-staff at the FBR Headquarters. Thus, no meeting between the tax authorities and business community would take place during the public holidays at the federal capital.
