KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 103,528 tonnes of cargo comprising 60,126 Tonnes of import cargo and 43,402 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 60,126 comprised of 25,964 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 6,614 tonnes of DAP, 13,860 tonnes of Wheat, 5,438 tonnes of Soya Bean Seed and 8,250 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,402 tonnes comprised of 7,315 tonnes of containerized cargo, 788 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 29,799 tonnes of Clinkers, 5,344 tonnes of Cement and 156 Tons of Rice.
As many as, 2810 containers comprising of 2071 containers import and 739 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 403 of 20’s and 778 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 56 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 116 of 20’s and 190 of 40’s loaded containers while 215 of 20’s and 14 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Some 06 ships namely, Osaka, Talassa, Kota Padang, Hilda, Stolt Sypress and Clemens Schulte have berth at Karachi Port.
Approximately, 04 ships namely, Dalian Express, Tarlan, Pegasus 01 and Kota Naluri have sailed out from Karachi Port.
More or less, 14 cargoes namely, Georgia M, Hyundai Colombo, MSC Emily II, Deadalus Leader, Scarbe Ginga Leopard, Swansea, KMTC Colombo Xin Changshu, MSC Sky II, SYMI, Sino Trust, Ez Fortuna and MH LANGOEY were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
Meanwhile two more ships, Anani and HPC Sunrise scheduled to load/offload 43,150 tonnes of Cement and 26,155 tonnes Steel coil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
A total of 12 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, three ships, MSC Denisse, Gas Arma and Jo Rowan left the port on Wednesday morning, while two more ships, Glen Canyon and MSC Rania are expected to sail from Container Terminal on today in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 179,351 tonnes, comprising 123,491 tonnes imports cargo and 55,860 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 6,642 Containers (3,705 TEUs Imports and 2,937 TEUs export) was handled at the Port.
There are 12 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, a Chemicals carrier Amagi Galaxy carrying 2,850 tonnes of Chemicals is expected to take berth at Engro Terminal on Wednesday, 26th January-2022, while three more ships, APL Florida, Maersk Nile and Northern Javelin carrying Containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, 27th January-2022.
