ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked a total of Rs2.92 billion for the completion of various developmental schemes related to the Ministry of Industries and Production (I&P) under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2021-22.

According to the PSDP 2021-22, the government earmarked Rs2.35 billion for ongoing developmental projects and Rs565 million for new development projects.

The Ministry of Industries and Production has calculated the estimated cost of all these projects at Rs20.72 billion.

The government earmarked only Rs80 million for the construction of Engro food processing facilities in Mirpurkhas Sindh province against estimated cost of Rs960.32 million.

The government earmarked Rs200 million for the development of Karachi Industrial Park on 1,500 acres of the Pakistan Steel Mills land including feasibility against estimated cost of Rs6.9 billion.

The government earmarked Rs100 million for establishment of high tensile sheet metal dies manufacturing and titanium coating setup at the KTDMC, Karachi against estimated cost of Rs400 million.

Rs25 million earmarked for improving competitiveness through sustainable national productivity (SNP) all across Pakistan against estimated cost of Rs77.75 million.

Rs30 million earmarked for research, regulatory insight and advocacy assistance for the SMEs Lahore against estimated cost of Rs200 million, and Rs150 million earmarked for establishing support centre for dental and surgical equipment (SCDS) in Sialkot against estimated cost of Rs720.35 million.

For ongoing schemes, the government earmarked Rs100 million for setting up of 1,000 industrial stitching units across Pakistan against an estimated cost of Rs350.5 million.

Rs18 million earmarked for business skill development centre for women in Dera Ismail Khan against an estimated cost of Rs59.5 million.

Rs620.3 million allocated for establishment of 132kv grid station at Bin Qasim Industrial Park, Karachi, against an estimated cost of Rs1.49 billion.

Rs300 million earmarked for establishment of Hub Special Economic Zone, district Lasbela, Balochistan against an estimated cost of Rs2.3 billion.

Rs106.5 million earmarked for establishment of Metal Park in Balochistan against Rs300 million estimated cost.

Rs32.1 million earmarked for footwear cluster development through CAD/CAM and CNC machining in Lahore against an estimated cost of Rs78.7 million.

Rs300 million earmarked for industrial designing and automation centres in Lahore, Karachi, and Sialkot against an estimated cost of Rs972.97 million.

Rs400 million earmarked for national business development programme for SMEs against an estimated cost of Rs19.55 billion.

Rs300 million earmarked for national strategic programme for acquisition of industrial technology (NSPAIT) including feasibility knowledge economy in Pakistan against an estimated cost of Rs3.36 billion.

Rs161.1 million earmarked for product development centre for composites-based sports goods in Sialkot against an estimated cost of Rs529.77 million.

Rs13 million earmarked for SMEs business facilitation centre Multan against an estimated cost of Rs59.9 million.
