LAHORE: Announcing that composite development will be the main focus of the Punjab budget 2021-22, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Thursday that the budget will depict the aspirations of the people and the government will facilitate the people through available resources.

"The parliamentarians have been consulted to determine the regional needs and attention is given to benefit the people through public welfare schemes," the CM said, adding: "A separate development package has been devised for every district."

The CM disclosed that mega projects will be initiated under the public-private partnership to provide additional facilities to the citizens by expediting the development process. The public-private partnership will be encouraged in different sectors to promote investment; he added.

In a statement, the CM said that steps will be taken to overcome unnecessary expenditures while the development programme will be realistic and public needs will be prioritised.

The CM said the new budget will start a new era of development and the development of the social sector will be given particular attention. The budget will depict public aspirations and resources will be allocated for the development of backward areas, he added. More funds will be allocated for the social sector; he announced.

He said the PTI government has protected farmers' rights and the growers of wheat and sugarcane crops received full reward of their hard work. He announced to earmark record funds for the agriculture sector.

The CM also said the opposition has indulged itself in dishonest political designs to create unrest in the country for destabilising the government but all those have been fully exposed.

The PTI is standing with the people while the negative politics of opposition leaders has become a part of history, he said, adding: "The opposition has also ignored the national interest and the government has no threat from it."

On the other hand, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, while talking to PTI Parliamentary leader in Senate Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry, said that all the allies including PML-Q are with the government for approval of the budget.

The governor said that reservations of the allies on certain issues are beauty of democracy; in the next budget, the government will provide relief to the people. He said the government will succeed in getting the budget approved.
