KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 218,656 tonnes of cargo comprising 129,991 tonnes of import cargo and 88,665 tonnes of export cargo during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargos of 129,991 tonnes comprised of 68,958 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,645 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo; 24,706 tonnes of bulk cargo; 8,332 tonnes of soya been seed; and 8,300 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargos of 88,665 tonnes comprised of 50,326 tonnes of containerised cargo; 32,592 tonnes of clinkers 3,447 tonnes of cement and 2,300 tonnes of oil and liquid cargo.
A total of 9,509 containers were handled out of which 5,200 were of imports and 4,309 were of exports. 5,200 import containers comprised of 1,648 of 20s and 1,205 0f 40s. Imports empty containers were 338 of 20s and402 of 40s. Export containers 4,309 comprised of 1,535 of 20s and 400 of 40s.Export empty containers were of 510 of 20s and 732 of 40s.
There were 08 vessels namely Independent Spirit, Kota Nilam, Argent Bloom, Jo Rowan, Great Agility, Grace, Charlotte Schulte and MSC Levina carrying containers, tanker, talk powder and clinkers are currently at the berths.
There were six ships namely M.T Lahore, M T Karachi, AL Shaffiah, Teera Bhum, APL Columbus, and Kota Nilam sailed off from Karachi Port.
There are five ships namely Bao Grand, Argent Bloom, Schuyler Trader, Ulanga and Value Smile expected to sail on 30-03 2021.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 174,437 tonnes comprising 133,606 tonnes of import cargo and 40,831 tonnes of export cargo including 3,651 containers (1,502 TEUs imports and 2,149 TEUs export), was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 133,606 tonnes includes 28,538 tonnes of containerized cargo; 85,281 tonnes of coal; 12,535 tonnes of vegetable oil and 7,252 tonnes of gas oil.
The total export cargo of 40,831 tonnes includes 40,831 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A total of six ships are currently at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim and waiting for berths, out of them two ships Maersk Brroklyn and Jin Bo carrying containers and steel coil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Tuesday 30th March, while Another container vessel MSC Levina is due to arrive at Port Qasim on 31st March 2021.
