RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained its upward slide for the third consecutive day against the US dollar in the local currency market on Thursday.

Due to the lack of buying interest in the market, the dollar remained under selling pressure for another day and ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 159.80 and Rs 160.60 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 160.00 and Rs 161.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Furthermore, the rupee-pound sterling parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the market. As a result, the British currency firmly closed at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 215.00 and Rs 216.80 respectively, they added.
