Taking action against a foreign airline for violating coronavirus SOPs, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed a fine on Turkish Airlines for the non-implementation of SOPs.

The CAA imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on Turkish Airlines for violating the COVID19 virus SOPs in accordance with aviation laws.

The CAA took notice and fined the airline, in this regard, the CAA Air Transport Department issued a notification of fines.

As per details, Turkish Airlines has flown a passenger named Mohammad Ashfaq from Mali to Istanbul without a corona test. The passenger was to arrive in Lahore from Istanbul by connecting flight. The passenger was dropped off at Istanbul Airport and was left stranded at the airport for 5 days and was not allowed to go to the hotel as he did not have a Turkish visa.

The Pakistani embassy contacted the passenger and in a letter from the Pakistani embassy directed to take action against the foreign airline.

On the directive of the Foreign Ministry, the abovementioned passenger has been allowed to enter Pakistan without a PCR test. Muhammad Ashfaq will be brought to Lahore Pakistan from Istanbul Airport Turkey.

The airline will hand over the passenger to the health staff, after which the passenger will be quarantined and tested for coronavirus.

Mohammad Ashfaq was not allowed to travel on the flight due to the lack of a PCR test. There was no PCR facility available at Istanbul airport which caused difficulties for the passengers.

It should be noted that the coronavirus test has been made mandatory by the Civil Aviation for the passengers coming to Pakistan from B category countries.
