Strict legal action would be taken against persons and owners of factories without any discrimination, who are involved in burning and illegal manufacturing of batteries causing environmental hazards in the rural as well as urban areas of Sindh, said Minister for Environment Shaikh Mohammad Afzal.
He expressed these views on Tuesday during a meeting held here at Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) head-office Korangi, Karachi.
Sheikh Mohammad Afzal directed the officers of Environment Department for making PC-II of development projects immediately and sending it to the Planning and Development department for approval. He also directed the officers of department to take immediate legal action against the government and private hospitals which are not following the environmental law and violators throwing and burning the medical waste in the populated areas.
