PARIS: Euronext wheat fell on Friday to fresh one month low in step with US futures as improved harvest prospects in several exporting countries underscored ample global supply and eclipsed a smaller expected European Union crop.
Front-month September milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext was down 1.00 euro, or 0.6%, at 178.25 euros ($209.87) a tonne by 1602 GMT, after earlier touching its lowest since end-June at 178.00 euros.
Paris prices were pressured by renewed weakness in Chicago futures, partly offset by a sharp pullback in the euro against the dollar.
An estimate calling for a record Canadian wheat crop and good early signs for the US spring wheat harvest added to supply pressure from increased forecasts for Russia's harvest and improving conditions in Australia.
