The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on Wednesday expressed concern over increasing trend of intolerance, violence and extremism in the society The Council also urged all sections of society to play their effective role for promoting the culture of mutual respect and tolerance for the welfare and progress of the country. The 180th meeting of the Council was held here under the chairmanship of Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani.
The Council approved the agenda for next CII meeting besides endorsing the proceedings of past CII meeting held on December 23,2010. The meeting was attended by Maulana Fazal Ali, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, Dr Sabiha Qadri, Shahida Akhtar Ali, Maulana Abu Al-Fateh Muhammad Yusuf, Maulana Muhammad Siddique, Dr Muhammad Idress Soomro, Maulana Ghulam Mustafa Rizvi, Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Qadri and Maulana Syed Saeed Ahmad Shah Gujrati.
