We take so many food products, natural or processed in our everyday routine but do we really know that some of these most commonly used and habitual food items can be deadly for life.

Here’s a list of some killer food products (pun intended) that can actually put your soul to rest and let’s just say this death will surely be a delicious one.

Potatoes         

Who doesn’t love a plain potato, this is one of the most loved vegetable in the world. From fries to chips to Canadian’s staple food poutine, potatoes are the most consumed vegetable. But steer away from the green potatoes and also from its leaves and stem as they can be poisonous and can cause severe food poisoning. These belong to nightshade vegetables, known to be full of solanine (a toxin), according to Science Based Medicine.

Mushrooms

This particular vegetable adds to a perfectly topped pizza or pasta and is used as an excellent meat replacing product. According to research.calvin.edu, however, not all mushrooms are edible. Some are extremely poisonous and lead to severe allergic reaction and even death.

Tomatoes

One of Pakistani cuisine’s favorite ingredient tomato is unfortunately a part of this list. This small red juicy fruit contains a poison called glycoalkaloid and solanine in its leaves that can  upset your stomach, cause severe cramping and anxiety according to a research published in Science Based Medicine.

Cherries

Seasonal fruits are one blessing and cherries are a delectable treat to have but it also has its drawbacks. These little plum colored goodness are full of little pits that contain poisonous hydrogen cyanide, which is highly injurious to health.

Almonds

This nut may help you in improving your memory but it can also finish your power to form memories. Unroasted or raw almonds are full of cyanide that can cause death but if you roast them, you''ll be fine.

Uncooked Eggs

Those who eat their eggs on the undercooked side may need to rethink about their decision. Uncooked eggs can contain salmonella bacteria, which can cause gastroenteritis in humans. Salmonella poisoning can also lead to serious complications, such as bacteremia (when salmonella enters the bloodstream), that are life-threatening to people with weaker immune systems.

Peanuts

With winter comes the favorite past time snack, peanuts. But these little nuts are a highly prophylactic food that can lead to severe constriction of the airways, shock and even loss of consciousness .

Stone fruits, apple, apricot and peach seeds 

Seeds of your favorite fruits apple, peaches, plums and apricots can actually lead to death. Research done by Science Based Medicine shows eating these pits in large doses can lead to dizziness and vomiting, increased blood pressure, kidney failure, coma and even death.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is usually consumed for treating constipation but this unpleasant medicine can be poisonous as the castor bean is loaded with a toxin ricin.

Fish

Not all fishes are a death sentence but this particular seafood can be deadly if not prepared properly. Endless research and real fatalities have proven that  puffer fish’s skin and certain organs contain an extremely poisonous toxin that can paralyze a human and even cause death.
