Surprise, surprise: Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 11 a flop
The controversial reality TV show Bigg Boss began its 11th season on October 1 this year and like every passing year, the show took off with a good start but recent Target Rating Point (TRP) results are revealing some other story.
Hosted by superstar Salman Khan, the recent season began with 18 contestants. The contestants include Hiten Tejwani, Hina Khan, Shilpa Shinde, Bandgi Kalra, Benafsha Soonawalla, Arshi Khan, Sapna Choudhary, Puneesh Sharma, Luv Tyagi, Sabyasachi Satpathy, Mehjabi Siddiqui, Akash Dadlani, Vikas Gupta, Luv Tyagi, Sshivani Durgah, Jyoti Kumari, Priyank Sharma and Zubair Khan.
Over the years, the controversial TV show garnered much attention mostly because of nasty fights, foul language, and dirty politics naming anything unethical. But even with all this, this year the show’s TRP is painting a completely different picture. As reported by Bollywood Life, the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC) issued the data for the first three weeks of October and it shows that this season's ratings have dipped since its premiere.
According to the survey the show started with a 2.9, the lowest in the history of Bigg Boss, and that too has plunged to 2.2 TRP. The show hasn’t even once featured on the list of top 20 shows in the rural category.
With the new wild card entries Dhinchak Pooja and Priyank Sharma, it’s still to see if the show will revive or not but from the latest verdict, Salman’s show is not a hit.
