NEW YORK: The S&P 500 and Nasdaq both finished at record highs Tuesday, boosted by financial shares that led a rally on easing fears over North Korea and US hurricanes.

At the closing bell, the S&P 500 stood at 2,496,72, up 0.4 percent, its second straight record, while the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.3 percent to 6,453.28.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3 percent to 22,117.69, within a point of a record with the settling price still to come.
