New spell of heavy rains forecast in Karachi

KARACHI: Another spell of rain-thunderstorms is likely to hit Karachi on Saturday and expected to continue till Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Department.

The second wave of monsoon has entered Sindh and Balochistan and might stay for the week, whereas monsoon rains will reenter Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from Monday.

Widespread rain-thunderstorm is expected in lower Sindh (Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi divisions), while at scattered places in  D.G khan, Zhob, Kalat, Malakand, Hazara divisions, FATA & Kashmir within 24 hours, according to PMD weather report.

However, as per today’s weather forecast, the port city will receive light rain today (Friday).

The last recorded mm of rainfall in Sindh includes Islam Kot 57, Mithi 21, Diplo 20, Chhor 16, Nagarparker 14, Chachoro 12, Dahli 08, Karachi (Gulshan e Hadeed 01).
