Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright has advised President-elect Barack Obama to help expand Pakistan, Afghanistan co-operation as part of efforts to curb militancy in the region and also work towards cancelling out the depiction that the United States is hostile to Muslims.
Weighing in on what Obama's priorities must be as he prepares to lead the country, Albright said "the United States should concentrate on enhancing security and co-operation between Afghanistan and Pakistan in order to rout out the Taliban".
She noted that Afghanistan has become an unsustainable stalemate and the majority of the population there has no faith in the country's government. He believed Obama should fashion a strategy complimentary to both Pakistan and Afghanistan to succeed and help enhance capacity in the region in order to overcome security challenges.
