The Karachi Port handled 103,011 tonnes of cargo including 52,384 tonnes of import, 50,627 tonnes of export, 5,421 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The freights comprised of 102,711 tonnes of dry cargo including 65,535 tonnes of general cargo; 13,230 tonnes of wheat; 12,096 tonnes of fertiliser; 9,871 tonnes of cement; 4,115 tonnes of clinker; 7,864 tonnes of rice and 300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely Kota Segar, Union Anna, Mol Admiration, India Express, Han Sprinter, Ainaftis, OBS Swathy and Island Star sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Apl Yokohama, Montania, Dija Bhum, Jakarta Express, Hyundai Qingdao, Ainaftis, Sima Sahba, Rising Om and Golden Arrow-II are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Sima Sahba, Montania, Galaxy Ace, Serpentine, Apl Yokohama and Caribbean Carrier-I expected to sail on Wednesday while two vessels viz Rising Om and Golden Arrow-II expected to sail on Thursday. Hyundai Emperor due to arrive on Wednesday while ten ships namely Galaxy Ace, Bow Fuji, MT Johar, Grace A, Chemway Arrow, Sima Paya, Harmony, Nordana, Barilliant Pescadores and Geo Milev are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 42,665 tonnes including 34,487 tonnes of import 8,178 tonnes of export cargo and 787 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The cargoes comprised of 18,279 tonnes of wheat; 8,093 tonnes of coal; 5,226 tonnes of cement and 11,067 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship Maersk Darnitta sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. A total of eight ships namely Voc Progress, Waffle Racer, Pearl River, Super Star, Alpha Afovos, Margurite, CGM America and Al-Barilla carrying wheat, coke and containers and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Five vessels viz CV Maersk Darnitta, MV Musan, MV Gan Bake San, MV Darya Radhe and MV Y M Cultivation are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat and coal respectively during the report period. Two container ships namely Marguriate and CGM America plus one cement ship expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday.
Six ships namely CV CSAV Morumbi, MV Iron Monger-III, MT Sea Sky, MV Alexi-III, Ann Egret and Ginger Tiger carrying containers, crude oil, furnace oil, cement, project cargo and phosphoric acid are due to arrive.
