The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, while terming the forthcoming so-called assembly elections as a futile exercise, has said that India has already taken a decision about who would form the next puppet administration in the territory and who would be its new chief minister.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in occupied Srinagar said that people of occupied Kashmir were least interested in the elections and did not want to be a part of any such process.
He said that it would have been better for New Delhi to announce the name of the puppet chief minister rather than holding farce elections and subjecting people to avoidable hardships. By staging peaceful protests and turning out in lakhs during recent mass uprising, Mirwaiz said, the people of Indian occupied Kashmir had proved that they were not interested in staying with India.
"Massive participation of people in pro-liberation rallies at Pampore, Eidgah and TRC had unnerved New Delhi and to overcome the embarrassment it faced before the international community, it has decided to hold elections in the territory," he said. The APHC chairman urged the people to remain united at this crucial juncture and foil nefarious designs of those who were hell bent upon diluting the Kashmir cause.
