ISLAMABAD: The authorities have imposed curfew and others restrictions in Srinagar and other towns of the territory to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations after Friday prayers, today.

According to KMS, the authorities have enforced curfew under the jurisdictions of police stations of Nowhatta, Maharajganj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal in Srinagar to prevent the demonstrations after Friday prayers.

The authorities have also imposed restrictions in all other towns of the territory by deploying Indian troops and police personnel in strength to restricted movement of the people. Call for the demonstrations has been given by joint resistance leadership and United Jihad Council against fresh wave of illegal and arbitrary crackdown on Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth by Indian police and troops across the Kashmir Valley.

The demonstrations are also aimed at registering protest against the US administration's unjustified action of declaring the Hizbul Mujahideen Chief, Syed Salahuddin, as terrorist to appease the Government of India.
