The Children Of The Perestroika

Arts and Entertainment, third prize stories

1993

Fashion designer Andrei Bartenev hides behind one of his startling designs, executed in papier-mâché. Moscow's young artists refer to themselves as 'the children of the perestroika'. They have their own way of channeling their creative energy—and of having a good time.
