A ticket holder of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) from NA-85 Faisalabad Haji Bilal Noor Ansari and party leader Haji Riaz Ahmad Ansari expressed their confidence in the leadership of PML Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and announced to join the PML-Q with their supporters.
They announced the decision in a meeting here on Monday. Elahi said the People's Party was facing disintegration after adoption of stand of the party leadership against national interests. Numerous PPP leaders and members after being disappointed with the party leadership contacted the PML leadership and were eager to join the party.
He said the People's party always practised the politics of revenge and hatched conspiracies against political opponents. "We have promoted the politics of tolerance and safeguarded people's rights," he said. "People are getting relief because of improved performance of state institutions during the Musharraf regime."
