DUBAI: Sri Lanka chose to bat and were 176-8 in their first innings at tea on the opening day of the second Test against Pakistan at Dubai cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.

Rangana Herath was unbeaten on six and with him Chanaka Welegedara 15 not out after Umar Gul took three early wickets to rock Sri Lanka.
