Austria-based Entex Handles was the only bidder in a Bangladesh import tender for 25,000 tonnes of white sugar, offering supplies at $420 per tonne, an official said on Wednesday.
The tender was issued by state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), which will announce its decision on the tender soon. On July 2 Indian state-owned Mineral and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC) made an offer of $494.95 per tonne in another TCB tender to import 12,500 tonnes of white sugar.
