ISLAMABAD: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has collected over Rs 1.66 billion on account of urgent fees for new domestic gas connections in its 13 regions across the country.
"Around 54,487 gas connections have been provided under urgent gas connection fee since February, 2014 to January 4, 2016," official sources in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources told APP.
They said the company had processed 1,258 applications in Abbottabad, 3,741 in Bahawalpur, 8,056 in Faisalabad, 4,742 in Gujranwala, 363 in Gujrat, 6,603 in Islamabad, 22,849 in Lahore, 3,587 in Multan, 2,688 in Peshawar, 7,873 in Rawalpindi, 953 in Sahiwal, 2,735 in Sargodha and 1,230 in Sheikhpura.
During the period, they also informed that the present government had given 896,458 domestic, 1,166 commercial and 93 industrial gas connections across the country.
