Otsuka Pakistan Limited, in a ceremony here on Tuesday, announced the names of winners of the recently held essay competition for kids aged 6-16 years in 4 different categories. The topic was 'How can we build better Pakistan'.
Fatima Surayya Bajia, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister, who was chief guest on the occasion, announced the names of winners of Bonsai Essay Competition.
Bajia highly appreciated the essay competition and stressed the need to organise such events on regular basis "as nowadays our new generation is losing inscription values, and it's our duty to accommodate them to continue such activities".
She said that the children "are an asset of our country", and a nation which had such intelligent children had certainly a bright future. "Till a person is alive he/she should do good work for the country up to end of life. This message must be given to children to lead a better life," she said.
Professor Mrs H Alyani, of PECHS Girls College, and Mahjabeen Zaidi, Professor of Urdu at Karachi University, were the judges for English and Urdu essays, respectively.
In this competition, altogether 3,500 entries were received from all over Pakistan, out of which 80 entries--40 entries of each category--were short-listed.
The four different categories were divided according to age. First category included children of age 6-8; Second category age 9-10; Third 11-12; and Fourth 13-16 years of age. Each category included both English and Urdu essays. Three best essays were announced winners in each category, both of English and Urdu.
Thus total 24 competitors of different cities Karachi, Lahore, Sukkur, Multan, Azad Kashmir, Vehari, Swat, Chanar, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Tando Adam, Hyderabad, Larkana and Nawabshah were selected in the lucky draw and presented gifts by the company according to their age and class.
In the end Abid Hussain, CEO, Otsuka Pakistan Limited, expressed gratitude to the audience and said, "Our organisation will continue such informative social activities in future as well to serve the nation, and will try to contribute towards (civil) society by arranging such events." Earlier, Habib Navaid, Director Marketing, OPL, highlighted the Company's objectives and aims to provide quality health services to the nation. And Nadeem Malik welcomed the chief guest and presented the vote of thanks.
