Sadar Division Investigation Police have busted an inter-district dacoits gang-Ashfaq alias Phakoo and arrested its three members. The accused have confessed committing dozens of incidents of dacoity and robbery in various districts of the province during preliminary investigation.
This gang was smashed by a special team constituted on the directions of SP Investigation Sadar Division.
The modus operandi of the gangster was that they used to loot passers-by and buses on gun-point and took to their heels.
The gangsters had committed crimes in Lahore, Okara, Faisalabad and Sheikhupura districts. All the gangsters are history-sheeters.
A total of 16 cases have been traced out against them in various districts of the province. The arrested were identified as ring leader Ashfaq, Kashif and Sabir Hussain.
Police have also recovered Rs 5500 in cash, three pistols and bullets from their possession.
SSP Investigation, Chaudhry Shafqaat Ahmed has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificate for the police raiding team.
