Returning officers on Saturday allotted symbols to 410 candidates for the seats of Nazim and Naib Nazim and 5307 councillors of 129 union councils of Multan district while 38 Nazimeen, Naib Nazimeen and 223 candidates of councillors withdrew their candidatures.
200 candidates withdrew their nomination papers in Dera Ghazi Khan, 53 in Khanewal, 158 in Burewala, 100 in Duniyapur. One to one fight is expected in more than 60 percent constituencies because Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and PPP had agreed to put consensus candidates and they had finalised the candidates for 112 out of 129 union councils and remaining would be finalised on August 2nd.
