Thousands of phones go out of order

Thousands of telephones went out of order when a fault suddenly hit the Garden Exchange on Saturday afternoon. According to detail, a PTCL underground chamber caught fire when some one threw garbage in it due to missing chamber cap. The fire burnt cables that ultimately rendered out of order thousands of telephones of Soldier Bazaar and adjoining residential and commercial areas.
The PTCL officials told Business Recorder that the repair work was under way to restore the damaged telephone lines.
