Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain has said the government will announce the election schedule of the Local Bodies within next few days. Addressing a big public meeting at village Chak Mandhar near Sialkot on Sunday, he said the LB system was being made more effective and useful for the larger interest of the common man of the country.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain stressed upon the people that they should work for defusing the misconceptions about Islam and enhancing the image of country. It was very unfortunate that print and electronic media of Muslim countries had badly failed in projecting the true values of Islam worldwide, as a result of which ambiguity had been developed about Islam, he added.
The NA Speaker underscored the need of purging the mosques from the politics for overcoming the threats of sectarianism and uppermost duty of Ulema to teach people about the basic and golden principal of Islam.
Amir Hussain said that there was no room for extremism and terrorism in Islam, because tolerance, peace and brotherhood were the fundamental principles of Islam that strongly condemned the killing of innocent people.
The speaker said long-standing Kashmir dispute would be resolved in the light of United Nations Resolutions and according to the aspirations of Kashmiris. Pakistan and Indian government had initiated the process of dialogues and both sides were making adequate efforts for resolving the Kashmir issue through discussion, he added.
Strongly refuting the allegation of some quarters that the government had changed its Kashmir policy, the NA Speaker termed it an absolute propaganda and said Pakistan was making strenuous efforts for inclusion of Kashmiris in dialogues as third party for resolving the Kashmir issue.
Amir Hussain observed that leadership of Pakistan and India were trying to ensure flexibility for the positive outcome of the issues including the core issue of Kashmir, hoping the Kashmir dispute would surely be settled within next two to three years.
Both the sides should demonstrate high degree of patience and flexibility at that crucial juncture for keeping up the tempo of "Confidence Building Measures," he said.
The NA Speaker also refuted the allegation of existence of any training camp in any part of the country, and said it was a sheer propaganda against Pakistan, because some anti-Pakistan lobbies were trying to defame Pakistan by levelling such allegations.
Speaker Amir Hussain said the government had focused its special attention on banishing of backwardness and developing the ignored and far-off areas of the country on top priority basis.
He said the government had allocated Rs 3.25 billion during next fiscal period for speeding up the uplift process and to improve the economic conditions of poor segment of the country.
In addition, huge funds were being utilised on the provision of basic facilities like electricity, Sui gas, telecommunication in remote and backward areas on the country, he said, adding the step had been taken for bringing the less-developed areas at equal par with developed parts of the country. Earlier, the NA Speaker inaugurated the Sui gas project.
