Three-time major winner Fred Couples and David Toms are part of a logjam at the top of the leaderboard after the third round of the 5.25 million dollar PGA Memorial tournament on Saturday. A half dozen players were crammed within one shot of the lead heading into Sunday's final round, but Tiger Woods was not among them.
Toms matched the day's best score, an eight-under 64, to charge into a share of the lead at 12-under 204 with Couples, Bart Bryant and halfway leader Jeff Sluman. Couples and Bryant each shot 66 while Sluman signed for a 68.
The three-time champion Woods's expected charge never materialised as he carded a lackluster 71 at Muirfield Village.
Woody Austin fired a 65 and Jonathan Kaye a 68 to lie one shot back, while Australian Peter Lonard is two shots behind after a round of 67.
A total of 14 players are crammed within four shots setting the stage for a dynamic Sunday.
