A supervisory board has been constituted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for providing mobile number portability facility to mobile phone customers. Chairman PTA Major General Shehzada Alam (Retd) told a local TV that the supervisory board will comprise representatives of all six mobile phone operators. The same number facility would enable the mobile customers to switch over to any among six mobile companies while retaining the same number.
The mobile number portability facility would be introduced by the end of current year, he said. According to Chairman PTA, every month around 500,00O connections are providing in the country.
