I wish to first of all commend the organisers for organising this important Conference under the theme of "Role of Canada in the Sustainable Development in Asia, the Middle East, Caribbean and Africa" In the light of current developments resulting in the wave of globalisation in all spheres of life, it may be necessary that the developing countries come up with solid, pragmatic recommendations/measures to shield itself from negative aspects of globalisation while optimally benefiting from its positive aspects and enhance trade among themselves.
This conference provides a good opportunity for the developed and developing countries to work jointly for the betterment of out future.
