An integrated plan has been prepared to further strengthen the police in Azad Kashmir, the state Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahid Hassan Qureshi said on Thursday. At least 1,200 constables would be inducted into the force, he told reporters here. Senior Superintendent of Police Mirpur Raja Nasim Ahmed Khan and other police officials were present on the occasion. Shahid Qureshi said during second phase of the plan 300 more constables would be recruited. He said nine vehicles equipped with wireless have been purchased for the fleet of Azad Kashmir police network.
The IGP also visited Bhimber area to personally commend the police officials over their successful operations against bandits and criminals, announcing cash awards in addition to promotions for various personnel.
