The British High Commission has made adequate arrangements to accommodate visa seekers of Pakistan and Azad Jamu and Kashmir, said Alex Pond, Director visa, British High Commission. In an informal chat with a group of reporters during her visit to Sialkot, she said that the visa section was handling a large number of visa applications of students, businessmen and visitors for the specific period. The British High Commission and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and industry (SCCI) are enjoying cordial relations for long, she said.
Alex Pond was confident that this warm relationship of the British High Commission and the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry had helped in promoting a better understanding and mutual economic relations between the business communities of both the friendly countries.
This friendship of British High Commission and the SCCI would be further strengthened with passage of time to help in bringing the businessmen of both the countries more closely, she added.
It was encouraging that the United Kingdom and Pakistan were enjoying close diplomatic and economic relations, who exist in various socio-economic fields, Alex Pond said.
The Director Visa indicated that cricket match had become a permanent feature and both British High Commission and the SCCI teams were playing cricket matches against each other for the past many years.
Through playing cricket matches, British High Commission and SCCI every year would not only cement the existing relationship but also provide an opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to trade, Alex Pond was of the opinion.
Earlier, the Director Visa along with other members of British High Commission visited various sports goods and surgical industries. On this occasion the visitors appreciated the quality of products and manufacturing skill of the industrial workers.
