Paper plays a vital role in any economy but unfortunately Pakistani paper industry is far behind in latest techniques of paper manufacturing. These views were expressed by the speakers at a seminar on 'Paper Industry in Pakistan' organised by Kaybee Industrial Corporation (KIC) here on Wednesday. The seminar was organised as a part of paper week being observed in Pakistan from April 15-22. A delegation of Chinese engineers, covering all areas of paper machinery was invited by KIC, to provide an opportunity to Pakistani paper industrialists to get technical information from Chinese experts.
The speakers apprised the participants about Chinese paper making technology.
The Chinese experts gave presentations on washing and maintenance of various equipment and accessories used in the paper manufacturing machinery.
Han Bangchun delivered lecture on cleaning of papermaking felt. Li Yangzhi briefed about the forming wire technology and its maintenance. Yalin gave insight on Chinese paper machines and technology.
KIC, on the occasion, formally launched the first industry newsletter titled 'Pakistan Paper'. The newsletter, which will be issued bimonthly, will cover all issues and news relating to the paper industry. The newsletter would also contain articles and global and local developments taking place in the paper industry.
KIC Chief Executive Officer Zafar A. Kalia urged upon the business community to come forward and invest in the paper industry.
