Graduation ceremony was held at Bank Alfalah head office on Saturday where fresh trainees expressed their experience and applauded the Bank's effort to produce highly professional bankers and exceptional citizens.
Every year Bank Alfalah inducts a group of dynamic individuals from across the country for its Management Trainee Program. The training is conducted at the state-of-the-art 'Training & Development Centre' located at the head office of Bank Alfalah Ltd.
The year 2004 was no exception, wherein Bank Alfalah received 8000 applications nation-wide. Out of these, 1794 applicants from the Northern Region (Punjab and NWFP) and 536 applicants from the Southern Region (Balochistan and Sindh) were called for the written test, upon which the first level of screening took place. From the individuals who were considered worthy of an interview, 319 belonged to Northern Region and 148 to the Southern Region.
From a competitive interview process 6 vibrant individuals were chosen from the Northern Region, whereas the Southern Region delegated 40 individuals of unique abilities.
The number of individuals hired was in response to the aggressive growth strategy adopted by the Bank, which demanded that two batches would have to be hired.
The first batch of MTO's arrived on May 10, and the second batch will be joining on August 4, 2004.
The Bank showed a great deal of concern to those individuals arriving from the North for their training session, because of the tireless efforts of the human resource division, and the training and development faculty, the MTO's from the North were provided luxurious accommodation and all added facilities at Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi.
For the ten-week duration, the training session consisted of three core modules. The Training & Development Faculty wasted no energy or insight in providing the batch with a solid theoretical base upon the critical fields of General Banking Law & Practice, Trade Finance, and Credits.
Special attention was paid to inculcate in the batch the importance of soft skills such as Time Management & Personal Effectiveness, Selling Skills, and Interpersonal Communication.
Furthermore, in order to inculcate a diverse understanding of the professional world, Scholars and Eminent individuals in their respective fields were invited as Guest Speakers. The result has been the development of the future leaders of Bank Alfalah Ltd into not just solid bankers, but as exceptional human beings.
Overall, the training session exercised here during the ten weeks has been of a highly effective and professional nature. Bank Alfalah is undoubtedly creating a paramount example of effective hiring and training thus adding strength to the commitment the institution has shown to the citizens of Pakistan.
