Hub-Pak Salt Refinery has started commercial production of PVD salt in its ISO 9001-2000 certified manufacturing facility at Hub Industrial Trading Estate.
The plant had been supplied by Evatherm of Switzerland and is the most advanced technology with thermo re-compression to reduce the cost of crystallisation.
The plant has been designed to produce 120 tons purest form of sodium chloride with 99.99 percent NaCI (sodium chloride) content.
The plant will be completed in two phases and the first phase, Alhamdolillah, has been successfully completed on June 14. Second phase of the plant is scheduled to be completed by March 2005, Insha Allah.
The plant was commissioned by a team of specialist experts from Switzerland, Germany and Hungary having experience in the commissioning of such sophisticated plants for over three decades.
The production of PVD salt in Pakistan means that there will be no need to import this grade of sodium chloride in Pakistan and the excess capacity will be exported to many countries around the globe.
The plant has been specially designed to produce pyrogen-free grades which will not only meet the international limits of Pharmacopoeias.-PR
