The government has decided to collect television licence fee from the customers along with their domestic electricity bills exceeding 100 units.
Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz in his budget speech on Saturday said, presently the domestic television set holders are required to pay the license fee of Rs 300 per annum in lump sum.
He said in order to lessen the burden and to create ease for payment, the government has decided that the fee would be collected in 12 equal monthly instalments of Rs 25 each through the domestic electricity bills exceeding 100 units.
He said that the scheme would not be applicable for Fata, Pata and AJK.
