A bomb blast, targeted at a senior army official here on Saturday, left one person dead and four others wounded, police and witnesses said.
The blast occurred at Sheikh Yousaf Road when provincial Deputy Commandant Ghaniur Rehman was coming out of his residence.
Reports said that the device went off as the car ran over it near the central gate of the house, killing a guest on the spot, while Ghani remained unhurt.
The blast injured two guards of the deputy commandant, and an official vehicle and a motorbike were damaged in the incident.
The injured were rushed to district headquarters hospital Dera Ismail Khan.
