Total foreign grants and loans are estimated at Rs 156,814.774 million for the next fiscal year against revised estimate of Rs 146,531.882 million for 2003-04.
According to 2004-05 budget document, the provinces would get Rs 20,800 million during the next fiscal against Rs 12,579.289 million in the last budget out of the total estimated foreign grants and loans.
The federating units are estimated to get Rs 19,233.253 million in loans and Rs 1,566.747 in the shape of grants during the next fiscal.
The Sindh province will get the least share in the foreign aid, ie, Rs 2,140 million in the next fiscal against Rs 1,482.672 million in the outgoing fiscal.
Punjab is expected to get Rs 8,723.619 million during the next fiscal against Rs 6,651.167 million in 2003-04. The estimated amount for the NWFP is Rs 5,637.685 million against Rs 3,709.327 million for 2003-04.
The foreign aid share of Balochistan province has been enhanced from Rs 736.123 million in the last budget to Rs 4,298.969 million in the new budget.
The grants are estimated at Rs 23,411.047 million, while the loans at Rs 133,233.727 million in the total foreign assistance package for 2004-05.
According to the budget document, the total estimated foreign assistance in project aid is Rs 56,422.786 for 2004-05 against Rs 42,933.274 million in the outgoing fiscal.
The estimated commodity aid is Rs 73,787 million for the next fiscal against Rs 43,032.660 million in the last budget, while food aid is estimated at zero for next fiscal against Rs 577 million for the outgoing fiscal.
Commercial borrowings are estimated at Rs 5,810 million, while Rs 180 million will be for technical assistance from the USAID during the next fiscal.
The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) will get Rs 13,714, while the National Highway Authority (NHA) is estimated to get Rs 2,276.424 million in the estimated amount.
An amount of Rs 15,990.424 million have been allocated for the local bodies in the next fiscal budget from the foreign assistance, while Rs 222.163 million are for Lowari Tunnel.
The Asian Development Bank-assisted Access to Justice project is to get Rs 163.710 million in 2004-05.
