imageLAHORE: About 450 Indian Sikh Yatrees arrived here on Tuesday at Wahga Railway Station by a special train to observe the 177th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh at Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore.

Additional Secretary of Evacuee Trust Property Board (BTPB) Khalid Ali, memberes of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) and other board officials received them warmly at the Wahga railway station.

Expressing entire satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Pakistan Government for keeping up holy places of Sikh, group leader Sikh Yatrees Gurmeet Singh said that they would feel pleasure to visit their worship places in Pakistan.

Owing to unique hospitality by the Pakistan Government and the ETPB, he said that the Sikhs are eagre to come to Pakistan again and again.

Soon after arrival, the Sikh pilgrims left for Janamastan of Baba Gurunanak Sahib at Nankana Sahib where they will stay for two days and perform religious rituals. Then they will leave for Sucha Sauda, Farooqabad, on June 23.

On June 24, the yatrees will leave for Gurdwara Punja Sahib Hassanabal and stay for two days to perform religious rituals. They will go back to Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on June 26. On June 27, the yatrees will visit Rohri Sahib in Aimanabad and Darbar Kartarpur in Narowal and return to Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on the same day.

The main ceremony in this regard will be held here at Gurdwara Dera on June 29.

The managment made foolproof security and other arrangements including immigration, customs, bank and medical facilities at the Wahga railway station to facilitate the pilgrims.

The Indian Sikh yatrees will go back to their homeland on June 30, the officials added.
