Karachi Cement Dealers Action Committee (KCDAC) has said that the Chairman of State Cement Corporation is reluctant to hold talks with it although it had agreed to adhere to the strict conditions put forward by the Corporation.
Convenor Shaukat Hussain and other members of the committee said in a joint statement issued here on Saturday that there is no reduction in black marketing by distributor of Javedan Cement who had caused a loss of Rs 130 million to the national exchequer. "Javedan Cement has stopped supplying cement to our members in revenge, thus forcing us to stage demonstrations and sit-ins," they said and added that misleading and baseless propaganda had been launched against them.
They said Javedan had offered them to supply cement without security deposit and on other strict conditions, which they accepted and were ready to purchase cement at Rs 215 per bag on cash. "But Javedan' administration is still not accepting our offer," they said.
"We are given a cement bag for Rs 215 and present distributor is given at Rs 198".
