Chairman Pakistan Association of Autoparts & Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam) has welcomed the statement of federal finance minister Shaukat Aziz that auto-parts makers should further expand their capacities and production.
"We think that we need government's fullest co-operation to keep pace with the demand and we can only do that when we know that we have a full sense of business security," he said in a statement here on Wednesday.
Over the last two and half years, he said, the association has spent well over 8 billion of rupees in upgrading the facilities with new equipment and newer technology.
"We hope the new budget would give us more access to the Pakistan domestic market with controls on legalised and under invoiced smuggling. We are also looking forward towards more co-operation with Central Board of Revenue on this issue," Nabeel observed.
He also appreciated the role of the Deputy Chairman, Planing Commission, Akram Sheikh, who, he said, has a clear view of the industrial policy of the country.
