Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Tuesday that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia support and stand by each other and this relationship will continue to grow in strength in the years ahead.
The Prime Minister stated this after a meeting with King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz at the Royal Court on Tuesday afternoon.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister informed King Fahd about the process of composite dialogue with India for the resolution of all outstanding issues including the Kashmir dispute.
They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jamali said Pakistan supports Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz's peace plan for the Middle East and will contribute whatever it can for the advancement of this process.
The Prime Minister also conveyed good wishes of President Musharraf and the people of Pakistan to King Fahd and the people of Saudi Arabia.
He described his meeting with King Fahd as "very good".
King Fahd, reaffirming warm ties between the two brotherly countries, said he and the people of Saudi Arabia have a special regard for Pakistan and its people.
The King asked the Prime Minister to convey his good wishes to President Pervez Musharraf and the Pakistani nation.
The Prime Minister in a meeting with Saudi Arabian Interior Minister Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz expressed Pakistan's support and understanding of Saudi Arabian efforts against terrorism and offered all possible co-operation to Saudi Arabia in the fight against the menace.
The Prime Minister informed Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz that Pakistan would be willing to train Saudi Arabian officials and extend every form of co-operation to the country.
Jamali said Pakistan understands and supports the steps taken by the Saudi Arabian government to counter the incidents of extremism, violence and terrorism.
During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to increase bilateral co-ordination and exchange of information.
The Saudi Arabian minister explained the Prime Minister about comprehensive steps being taken by the government to act against a small group of extremists who are bringing a bad name to Islam.
Prince Naif said that Saudi Arabia was extending co-operation to other GCC countries, Arab and Muslim world in this field.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were already co-operating in checking drug trafficking.
The Prime Minister assured that Pakistan would take all-out measures to reinforce co-operation in this field.
The Saudi Arabian interior minister said they understand that all drug traffickers are not necessarily of Pakistani origin.
Prince Naif said that the Saudi Arabian government attaches great importance to Pakistan's role in the OIC and the region as well as to the policies being pursued by the government against terrorism and extremism.
He expressed appreciation for President Pervez Musharraf's concept of "Enlightened Moderation" and expressed the hope that it would help in projecting Muslim Ummah in a positive way.
He also endorsed Pakistan's efforts to reinvigorate OIC as a forum for the promotion of interests of the Muslim world.
