A trade delegation of LCCI, currently on visit to Kenya and South Africa, has signed an MoU with National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Nairobi, under which the two sides will exchange information about markets, economic and industrial policies, investment and foreign exchange laws and custom duties and tariffs.
Pakistan High Commissioner in Kenya Zahid Hussain, and Kenyan Minister of Trade & Industry Mukhisa Kituyi also attended the signing ceremony.
According to a news release of LCCI, Kenyan Minister for Trade & Industry Mukhisa Kituyi said that exchange of delegations between the two countries should continue in future. He assured the LCCI delegation that he would do his best to enhance the trade volume between the two countries.
Pakistan High Commissioner said that the LCCI delegation's visit would go a long way in identifying new opportunities for import and export.
He said that both counties have cordial trade relations and Pakistan is the biggest buyer of Kenyan tea.
He hoped that trade relations between the two sides would be further cemented in future.
Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry Chairman Dr David Githere said that it was a matter of great pleasure for him to welcome an LCCI trade delegation for the first time in the history of his chamber.
"This tour will help in further strengthening the trade ties between the two friendly countries," he expressed hope.
The delegation, with the co-operation of Pakistan High Commission, also arranged an exhibition of pharmaceutical, plastic, chemical and leather products in Nairobi.
