Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) has said that the Wapda, in order to provide better facility of electricity in the city, would give an additional grant of Rs 330 million to the Lesco.
He stated this while talking to Wapda chief Tariq Hamid on phone while on an inspection tour of the Lesco Customer Centre, Circle Icchra and Regional Customer Centre, Azadi Chowk, on Sunday.
The governor was apprised by the chief executive of the Lesco that in order to put halt to electricity theft a campaign has been launched in the city. He told the governor that pressure was being exerted by the influential persons during this campaign.
The governor asked the Lesco chief to continue with the campaign without any fear or pressure.
