The intensity of the tropical cyclone, which was to hit Indian coastal city Surat on Monday night, has been tapered off, the Met office said.
The cyclone (O1A) is now travelling at the speed of about eight kilometer per hour to 18.5 degree north and 70 degree south.
The cyclone is about 900 kilometers of Karachi coast with wind blowing at 35 knot.
The Met official said that the peripheral atmosphere of the cyclone might hit coastal areas of Badin and Thatta districts.
Meanwhile, Sindh Fisheries Minister and chairman Fishermen's Co-operative Society (FCS) Sardar Manzoor Panwhar has advised fishermen not to go for fishing for next couple of days.
He also aired the appeal for fishermen busy in the deep sea to return and do not take any risk.
Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan asked the fishermen to strictly follow the directives of the Meteorological Department in view of possible threat of a cyclone.
The Governor said that according to the Met office warning, the oceanic zone and areas along the coast could be affected by the cyclone and therefore fishermen should avoid going for deep-sea fishing.
In this regard, he also directed the concerned department to remain alert and take necessary steps.
