Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi on Wednesday said that Pakistan Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (PITAC) would soon be affiliated with some degree awarding educational institution of the country.
"The affiliation will help attract youth to the training programmes offered by Pitac, the institution with laboratories equipped with state of the art machinery," he told APP after chairing a meeting at Pitac.
The meeting was attended by the senior officials of Pitac.
Jatoi said that the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) had provided Pitac with the latest moulding and computer aid design machinery.
Now it was the responsibility of the private sector to take benefit from such a modern gadgets to help increase productivity in the industrial sector, he added.
He said that a seminar on the role of Pitac would be organised in Lahore by the end of May to seek the recommendations of the stakeholders.
