Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources, Senator Nisar Memon will inaugurate the launching ceremony of Website of Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources on Monday.
This website would play a pivotal role in addressing the issue of efficient water management as well as building a consensus amongst the provinces on construction of new water reservoirs.
A first of its kind, www.pakwater.gov.pk would serve as an open forum for experts on water, intellectuals and individuals from all walks of life.
They could give their suggestions and comments on the conservation and enhancement of water resources for irrigation and power generation in the backdrop of the looming threat of water shortages in the country.
The website would also play a key role in creating transparency. The database will be updated on the basis of authentic information provided by the public, so that sound recommendations could be formulated and subsequently be incorporated in the report to be submitted to the President.
